Edward Torrence is an attorney
licensed to practice law before all courts of the State of
California as well as the Federal Courts of the Southern
District and Central District of California. He has also been
certified to practice in all Military Courts of the United
States Armed Forces including the Court of Military appeals.
Mr. Torrence was educated at California State University,
Fullerton, California where he received a Bachelor's Degree in
Political Science. He also received his legal education at
Pepperdine University School of Law, earning a Juris Doctor
degree. He received specialized military law training at the
Naval Justice School, Newport, Rhode Island and was certified
by the Judge Advocate General to prosecute and defend military
cases. Mr. Torrence performed a Professional Internship
working for the Office of the District Attorney for the County
of Orange, California. He served as Special Assistant United
States Attorney for the Central District of California for
three years. He served as a Commissioned Naval Officer in the
Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG) until his retirement in
1994. As a Judge Advocate, he served as both a prosecutor and
defense counsel in hundreds of courts-martial, Boards of
Inquiry and administrative separation hearings. His cases
included homicide, rape, arson, larceny, interstate
trafficking of pornography, fraud, sexual harassment,
fraternization and computer based crimes.

As a prosecutor, he won guilty
verdicts in 100% of his cases.

As a defense counsel, he
received acquittals in a number of high profile Courts-martial
including a dual defendant, dual jury rape case and a larceny
case with five alleged "eye witnesses" and an alleged
confession.

Mr. Torrence established his
private practice in September 1994 continuing to serve
military personnel in all manner of military justice cases
including court-martial, boards of inquiry and administrative
separation proceedings. He has been for many years, an active
member in good standing of the California State Bar
Association, The San Diego County Bar Association, the San
Diego Trial Lawyers Association and the Foothills Bar
Association. He has served on the Board of directors of the
Foothills Bar Association since 1998.
